Luanda — The cardinal don Alexandre do Nascimento Wednesday here highlighted the presence of gender in National Assembly (Parliament), as generating source of balance in decision-making power.
Speaking to ANGOP, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the II legislature, the church authority said that the gender presence is also essential in all sectors of the national life, by transmitting the "community and understanding".
The cardinal affirmed that the mission of all MPs is to implementing strategies for the people's well-being.
"I count much on cooperation of female gender in our parliament, and I am very sure that they will do their utmost, contributing to the good governance, enforcing in this way, the strategic lines that will be developed for wellbeing and development of the country", concluded the cardinal.
Women hold 41 percent of seats in parliament and 28.5 represented in decision making organs.
