Luanda — Thirty-nine diverse books by the Spanish writer Federico Garcia Lorca are being exhibited since last Tuesday in the National Library, in Luanda, in the ambit of the Second Week of the Spanish Culture in Angola.
The material in display result from a literary works Donation Memorandum, signed on Tuesday by the Spanish Embassy and the National Library. Under the agreement the books will be available for the public in the coming days.
The exhibition will be open until October 18.
In the exhibition one can find books of tales and poetry by the writer, as well as essays on the life and work of the author, who is considered by the critics as the greatest Spanish writer, since Miguel de Cervantes (author of the famous book "Don Quixote de La Mancha").
Speaking about the donation, the director of the National Library, Maria José Ramos, said that the signing of this memorandum represents a strengthening of the cultural relations between Angola and Spain.
"Besides enriching our asset, this collection will bring the public closer to the work of this great man of arts" Maria José Ramos stressed.
