Eritrea: President Isaias Returns Home Concluding Working Visit to UAE

Asmara — President Isaias Afwerki returned home today concluding a working visit to the United Arab Emirates from October 13 to 15. He told reports on arrival at Asmara International Airport that his talks with different UAE officials were fruitful.

The President said that the understandings reached earlier has now attained the final phase in the course of the latest meetings as regards agriculture, investment, housing, mining, health and other sectors.

During his stay in Dubai, President Isaias held talks with different UAE officials, investors, entrepreneurs and others on bilateral relations and the available investment opportunities in Eritrea.

Also on his way home today, the President held talks in Doha with the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. The talks focused on Qatari's efforts to achieve a peaceful solution to the Sudanese issues in general and that of Darfur in particular. In the meeting, President Isaias expressed Eritrea's support to the initiative and endeavors of Qatar.

Yesterday in continuation of his talks with different UAE officials on developing bilateral relations and cooperation, President Isaias held discussion with the Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent on ways of fostering cooperation in the health sector. He also held talks with Mr. Mohammed Haj Al-Kori, Manager of the Zaid Charity Organization, on possible cooperation in vocational education.

Moreover, in a meeting with the Manager of the Al-Akhra Company, both sides conducted discussion regarding the available investment opportunities and the favorable investment climate in Eritrea.

Meanwhile, the President visited and wished good health to Mr. Al-Amin Mohammed Seid, PFDJ Secretary, who is receiving medical treatment in Dubai.
