Angola: Prime Minister Discusses Cooperation With Portugal, China

Luanda — Angolan prime minister, António Paulo Kassoma, Wednesday in Luanda, received in separate audiences the ambassadors of Portugal and China, Francisco Ribeiro Teles and Zhang Bolun, respectively.

In the audiences, the ambassadors reviewed, with local prime minister, the state of cooperation in various domains.

Speaking to journalists at the end of the audience, Francisco Maria de Sousa Ribeiro Teles said the relations between Angola and Portugal have reached a remarkable stage, adding there are conditions for their reinforcement.

"There is an excellent political relationship and a very strong economic and business cooperation," said the Portuguese diplomat.

Francisco Maria de Sousa Ribeiro Teles revealed as well that he reiterated the invitation from the Portuguese premier, José Socrates, for the Angolan prime minister to officially visit Portugal.

He considered the audience as of courtesy, adding that it served for him to compliment and congratulate premier Paulo Kassoma on his nomination and wish him success.

In his turn, the ambassador of China to Angola, Zhang Bolun, said the talk with the local prime minister focused on the country's process of reconstruction and development, particularly on information on projects of construction of ports, airports, roads, hospitals, houses and other infrastructures.

He said as well that the meeting served for a discussion of matters concerning the country's self-sufficiency, particularly about the re-launch of the farming industry.

On the other hand, according to the Chinese ambassador, the Angolan prime minister expressed the interest of Angola to reinforce cooperation in the training of personnel.
