Nigeria: Mutiny - Senate to Probe Trial of 28 Soldiers

Abuja — The Senate has set the stage for investigation of on-going trial of 28 soldiers for mutiny. The soldiers are being prosecuted by the military high command for protesting non-payment of their allowances after returning from Liberia where they had gone on a Peace-keeping mission.

Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South) yesterday presented a petition on behalf of the 28 soldiers to the Senate, and was referred to the Committee on Ethics, Public Petition and Privileges.
