Kuito — Central Bie Province's culture department chief, AntÃ'nio Buta, appealed on Wednesday in Kuito for people to respect and preserve the historic monuments and public sites of this region, since they symbolise the past.

In an interview to ANGOP, the official stressed also that the communities should have in mind the importance and responsibility that these sites represent as historic assets of a space, adding

that it is paramount that they receive special attention.

Bié Province has 250 monuments and sites.
