Luanda — Angolan minister of Agriculture, Afonso Pedro Canga Thursday in Luanda pledged, in the light of National plan and of Government programme, a significant increase of public investment for agrarian sector, in comparison to the previous years, with view to fight against hunger and poverty in the rural zone.
Addressing the opening of technical-scientific festivities marking World Food Day, celebrated Thursday (16 October), the Cabinet minister noted that the measure is among the priorities of the Government programme.
Also coordinator of the National Tele-Food Committee (organ in charge ofTele-Food campaign), Pedro Canga explained that due to the challenges the combat against hunger and poverty poses, the State will also double the investment of other food-generating sectors.
According to him, the increase of public investments in agriculture and other sectors will enable the expanding of productive infrastructures, the re-launching of scientific research, of rural extension, as well as the training and the spreading of measures of environment protection.
