Nigeria: Govt, Cuba Enter Cordial Relationship

Abuja — Nigeria has entered into a bilateral relationship with Cuba to harness understanding between the two countries.

Minister of State (1) for Foreign Affairs, Tijjani Kaura, said this on Thursday at the opening of the fifth session of Nigeria-Cuba Joint Commission in Abuja.

According to him, the Joint Commission meeting is being held to look into the issue of private partnership which is at its lowest ebb and also enhance the corporate partnership between Nigeria and Cuba.

Kaura said "the two countries would enter the Joint Commission meeting with frank and open mind with the determination to explore other bilateral cooperations for the benefit of the citizens of the two countries".

Expressing gratitude over the 149 Nigerian students in Cuban tertiary institutions under full scholarship by Cuban government, Kaura promised that closer ties would be fastened to maintain the goodwill relationship between the countries.
