Luanda — Angolan folk music group Ndengues do Kota Duro have released their debut album with 5000 copies, edited by Woofer Àudio, which will be sold on Sunday at the gate of AtlÂntico cinema, in Luanda.
This was announced on Thursday by the head-manager of the editing company Alcas Fernandes.
"Ima Ya Kuxa" is the title of the Cd, recorded in Angola and mastered in Portugal.
With ten tracks the album features participations of percussionist Correia Miguel and drummer Pedrito, with folk rhythms like Bukula, Katutula, Kaxaxatela and Kandanda, all from the north-central Malanje Province.
The album portrays various traditional aspects of Malanje culture.
Ndengues do Kota Duro became famous in the 1990's with the track "Meu Azar".
Made up by Alexandre, Íman, Avozinho, Ti Lima, Yoyo, Sasa and França, the band have been committed to expanding Angolan traditional/folk music.
