Huambo — The Angolan Culture minister, Rosa Cruz e Silva, is to travel Friday to Algeria, where she will participate in the Second Session of the African Culture Ministers Conference, set for 19-23 October.
To happen under the motto "Harmonising and coordinating cultural policies, programmes and activities", the event will serve for the Culture ministers to assess the latest developments in terms of cultural issues.
The gathering will also analyse the basic instruments of cultural policies and the documents for the strategies outlined in the African Charter and the Dakar Action Plan for Cultural Industries.
It is also scheduled a discussion on the project of interconnection between culture and education, among other topics.
Speaking to ANGOP, Rosa Cruz e Silva said that the Angolan delegation to the mentioned event will defend the need for greater interaction and communication among African countries, having into account the resolution of major cultural problems, such as cultural identity, which affect the continent.
The conference will be preceded by an experts meeting that will review the report on the situation regarding the implementation of the decisions from the First Session of the African Culture Ministers Conference and analyse the framework of cultural policies for Africa, besides other points.
