Mbanza Kongo — The chairperson of the Miss Zaire Committee, Nguida Paulo, this Friday guaranteed, in Mbanza Kongo city, that the preparations are underway for election of the "Miss Zaire 2009", on October 24, here.

According to the chairperson, despite the delays verified in preparation of the gala, all organisational means are ready and the progress is satisfactorily.

"At the moment we have 15 candidates, with another two from Luanda expected this Sunday so that on Monday the preparations begin and the real number of contestants for this contest is announced", added the source.

Nguida Paulo promises various innovations for the gala to elect Zaire's most beautiful lady.

He assured that Angolan singers such as Lina Alexandre, Yuri da Cunha, Claudeth Chizungo and the "Socorro" band will perform at the event.

The Miss Zaire 2008, Lesliana Pereira, is the current Miss Angola, elected on December 14, 2007.
