Uige — At least 491 road accidents have been registered since last January in northern Uige province, claiming 83 lives and injuring 429 people.
It was revealed recently in this city by the provincial command of the National Police, sub-commissioner Alfredo Sebastião Francisco, during a meeting with the local department of transport and taxi drivers of the province.
The official called on drivers and motorcyclists that have no licences to regularise their situation, advising them to book for driving schools around the province.
Speaking at the event, the deputy governor for economic and social sphere of Uige, Augusto Justino, said that in order to avoid these consequences it is necessary that people compulsory comply with road codes.
