Kampala — Cranes coach Bobby Williamson is scheduled to meet coaches of the Super League and First Division clubs tomorrow morning.

The meeting, aimed to planning the development of football at the grass-roots level, will be held at the headquarters of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) in Mengo.

The Scot, who took over the national team after the departure of Laszlo Csaba, is hopeful the meeting can kick start the long-term rehabilitation of football in Uganda with the country still reeling from another elimination in the African/World Cup qualifiers.

Optimistic

"The transformation of a player depends on several things. But among them is the knowledge he acquires from the coaches while developing and," Williamson said, adding that "I'm sure the initiative can only yield results in the long run for future international campaigns."

Fufa boss Lawrence Mulindwa, who has regularly faced criticism for his lack of support for youth football roots, is glad something is getting underway. "It is one of the major areas we are embarking on to ensure that talent is developed when raw. We no longer have superstars," said Mulindwa.
