Macbeth Sibaya faces the disappointment of missing out on the chance to come up against his Bafana Bafana teammate Matthew Booth in the Russian League this weekend.
Sibaya's Rubin Kazan, who are six points clear at the top of the League with just five matches left to play, face Booth's Krylya Sovetov at home on Saturday, but the midfielder is doubtful as he is still struggling with the ankle knock that forced him out of the international friendly against Ghana in Bloemfontein.
The 30-year-old was forced to sit out the weekend's 2-0 victory over Shinnik Yaroslavl and is disappointed at the prospect of not facing his friend Booth.
"The coach asked me to relax this weekend and not risk more damage because it is still tender," Sibaya told KickOff.com from Kazan.
"I think I'll miss this coming weekend's game against Matthew too. Hopefully, by the week after that, I'll be fine."
This weekend could be a decisive one in the Russian League, with Kazan's two rivals for the championship, CSKA Moscow and Dinamo Moscow, meeting in a clash on Sunday that could see the loser all but out of the title race.
