Kampala — The Government has allocated sh250m for the construction of a palace for the Teso cultural leader. The leader, Emorimor Augustine Osuban Olemukan, said the building would house offices, conference hall, guest house and a museum.
Osuban revealed this while opening the ICU council meeting at Lukiiko Hall, Soroti on Saturday 18, 2008.
Ministers in the cultural union, Stephen Enokokin and Andrew Ochole said the plans had been submitted to the gender, labour and social development ministry.
Osuban urged the Iteso in the diaspora to unite and promote their culture. A committee to spearhead the construction of the palace was formed during the meeting.
