Luanda — The electoral process and the perspectives of the new Angolan Parliament topped Tuesday talks between the speaker of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, and Portugal's ambassador to Angola, Francisco Ribeiro Teles.
At the end of the meeting, the European country's diplomat characterised the bilateral diplomatic cooperation as "excellent and great", as well as in the framework of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP).
"There is a great tuning of positions between Angola and Portugal", explained Francisco Teles, adding that the current mechanisms of cooperation should be pursuit and intensified.
Concerning the strengthening of Parliamentary cooperation, she informed that the speaker of the National Assembly "accepted with pleasure to visit Portugal" at the invitation of his Portuguese counterpart, Jaime Gama, who was in Angola last December.
Francisco Teles also assured that the efforts will continue for the strengthening of Parliamentary relations in the framework of Angola/Portugal friendship group, as well as within CPLP.
