Angola: Federation Secretary General Defends List of Consensus

Luanda — The secretary general of the Angolan Chess Federation (FAX), Abraão dos Reis, this Tuesday here affirmed that in some cases the creation of lists of consensus in national sports institutions can be justified.

Speaking to ANGOP, in the light of the process of renewing mandates in sports association that is happening and coinciding with the end of an Olympic games, Abraão dos Reis defended that electing a consensual team enables to select people who will guarantee work in favour of the development of the sport.

The pointed out as advantages the maintenance of programmes that eventually were not concluded during the previous mandate, a crucial factor for a broader development of the programmed actions.

He referred that the list of consensus solidifies the union in the sport and does not allow the fleeing of staff, as what happens when there are various contestants.

Abraão dos Reis explained that the chess federation will adopt the list of consensus during the elections set for next October 25, on the fringes of the ordinary general assembly, to be held in Luanda.
