Ghana: Amoah Eyes Move to England

22 October 2008

Ghana striker Matthew Amoah is keen on taking advantage of his blistering form to join the English Premier League.

The 27-year-old, who is currently the leading scorer in the Dutch top flight, has scored nine goals in six matches so far this season.

His goals have fired his club NAC Breda to the top of the league and he is hoping his form can help him secure a move to England with Middlesbrough and Everton said to be interested.

"If a club offers a few million, then perhaps that will make NAC happy. I've always dreamed of playing for England. As a boy I always thought about Arsenal," Amoah says.

"But also hearing about clubs like Everton and Middlesbrough is wonderful."

Amoah was an instrumental figure in Ghana's first ever qualification for the World Cup, scoring three goals in three consecutive qualifying matches.

But he failed to cut any ice at German side Borussia Dortmund and was released last year.

Amoah has since regained his form at NAC Breda and was this month recalled to the national team after a one-year absence.
