Crusader General Insurance Plc, in partnership with MAPFRE ASISTENCIA, has designed a new travel insurance policy, which provides various options for policyholders within and outside the country.
The travel insurance product can be arranged to cover the policyholder either on the continent of Africa, Europe or worldwide or when pilgrims are away to Medina and Mecca in Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah. The country of residence is, however, excluded from the scope of the cover.
For coverage within Africa, the insured person will be paid 10.000 Euro to cover medical expenses, and for coverage within Europe including the Schengen area and United Kingdom, the policyholder will be entitled to 30.000 Euro to cover medical expenses.
For worldwide coverage, the medical expenses that policyholders are entitled to ranges between 30000 Euro and 50000 Euro, while pilgrims who are in Saudi Arabia for religious pilgrimage are entitled to either 10.000 US dollar for Hajj and Umrah basic cover or 15.000 US dollar for Hajj and Umrah plus cover or 25.000 US dollar for Hajj and Umrah extra cover depending on the scope of cover.
Besides, the insurance company says policyholder will be entitled to transport fares in case of illness or accident, emergency dental care, while also taking care of repatriation of family member travelling with the insured, repatriation of mortal remains.
In case of emergency, policyholders are assigned a telephone line which they can call 24 hours a day and 365 days a year to apply for assistance.

Crusader started insurance business in Nigeria in 1958 as a foreign office of Crusader Insurance Company Limited, Reigate, United Kingdom, only life and pension business.
