Angola: Country Still to Decide on Coach

Angola, who will host the 2010 African Nations Cup, will announce the names of the Palancas Negras' technical team next week.

The secretary general of the country's soccer governing body August Silva 'Alvarito', explained that the federation management, left, chairman Justino Fernandes, was is studying several combinations about the composition of the future coaching team, however, he did not give further details.

Presently Mabi de Almeida is the caretaker coach of Palancas Negras, following the dismissal of Oliveira Goncalves due to poor results.

Former assistant coach of national team, Mabi led the national squad 3-1 win over Niger on October 12 in Luanda at the Coqueiros Stadium, for the last qualifier for the 2010 World Cup.

A source from the federation told Angop that Mabi de Almeida will continue to lead the Angolans at least until next year January, and as such he will hold the reins during the upcoming CAF Chan tournament for the Africa-home based players that is set to take place in the Ivory Coast during February.
