Luanda — The Angolan Institute of Cinema, Audiovisual and Multimedia (IACAM) will announce at the end of this month the complete schedule of the first Luanda International Cinema Festival (FIC Luanda2008), to happen in November.
This information was released last Tuesday by the director for production and programming of that institution, Jorge António, who told ANGOP that logistical conditions are being created to show in Luanda City various films and documentaries produced by directors from Africa, Europe and America.
"We hope that the cinemas will be full during the festival. We will display various films in Pepetela Auditorium, Atlantico and Belas Shopping cinemas. The movies will come from worldwide, with interesting people from other cultures ", he said.
Jorge António, who spoke on the fringes of the display of the film entitled "Comboio da Canhoca", of the Angolan director Orlando Fortunato, did not mention the number of movies and directors who have confirmed their participation in the festival that will take place from 22 to 9 November.
"The programme will be presented in a press conference at the end of October or beginning of November. The organisation board is working hard on it. The jury members are at the final phase of assessing the participating films, so I can't give more details. We will have conferences, exhibitions and movies ", he explained.
