Angola: Plastic Artists Retirement Pension Meeting Friday

Luanda — A meeting between plastic artists and officials of the provincial department for social security will be held Friday at 10 am in Luanda, to analyse the procedures related to the retirement pension for artists underway in the countries.

Speaking to Angop, the secretary general of the National Union of Plastic Artists (UNAP), Bastos Galiano, said that the meeting is aimed at explaining to the creators the advantages of the retirement pension for the artists or social protection for self-employed people, as the men of culture will have their old age guaranteed.

"When we all become old, we need help, after many years of work. Therefore, in order to regularise the retirement process, the artists will also be discounted from their incomes for social security, which represents a gain for themselves," he said.

The process will facilitate the direct integration of the artists who are 60 years of age or have 30 years of career and so far have not been discounted from their revenues, into the social security scheme.
