Mayor of Makeni city council Moses Sesay at the week end presented a shop worth Le30 million to Josephine Sallay Conteh, winner of Zain-Sierra Leone's mobile phone network "Own A Shop" Promotion.
Before handing over the keys to the shop and Le 5 million cash to the winner, the mayor praised Zain mobile network for their corporate responsibility demonstrated in that part of the country.
He said, "Zain is a reliable network with the widest coverage across the country. We are happy for their presence here in that they behave like a corporate entity."
He expressed hope that the mobile company will continue doing business with the people of Makeni.
He further advised Josephine, the winner to pay the company back by handling the business with care.
Zain's territory manager, north, Richard Preede said the company is committed to providing cheap and affordable traffic to its customers.
"We'll try to alleviate poverty in the country through our promotions, as it's also part of our corporate responsibility to the people of this country," Preede said, and advised the winner to make very good use of the business.
The winner, Josephine Conteh expressed appreciation to Zain, noting that her third year with the company has become fruitful.
