Nigeria: Minna Residents Warned Against Construction On Water Pipelines

THE General Manager, Niger State Water Board, Alhaji Abdulraman Baba, has warned residents against building on water pipelines to avoid contamination.

Baba, who gave the warning in Minna, added that to avoid contamination, septic tanks should not be built near water pipelines.

He explained that a committee would soon embark on an inspection of Minna and its environs to enforce compliance.

It would be recalled that a septic tank burst in Kpakungu, Minna during road construction recently and contaminated public water supply in the area.

He further said that water supply to Bosso town would be boosted when the ongoing work was completed on Bosso water treatment plant.

He added that the turn-around maintenance of the water treatment plant was nearing completion.

He said the plant had been provided with a 250 KVA generator.
