Angola: Cabinet Council Meets This Friday

Luanda — The Angolan Cabinet Council will be gathered this Friday, in Luanda, to analyse economic, social and political matters of the country, a session that will be chaired by the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.

This is the second extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet, which will take place in the Presidential Palace.

In its first session, held on 06 October, the Cabinet Council approved the diploma that establishes the organisational structure of the Government, its composition and way of functioning, as well as outlines the competences of the President of the Republic in his capacity as head of the Government, and the competences of the Prime Minister as the President's chief assistant in conducting the action of the Executive.

At that meeting, besides other issues, the Cabinet also recommended the elaboration of the National Plan for the 2009/2013 period, the Governance Programme for 2009, and the State's General Budget for next year as well.
