Minister of energy and power has categorically told a press conference in Freetown that the board will not reinstate the sacked deputy general manager of national power authority who was implicated in some impropriety.
Haja Afsatu Kabba said there was no way the board could bring back Patrick Tarawallie.
The energy and power minister said the board was not influenced by any means to take such a decision, adding that Patrick Tarawallie and others were depriving the ordinary Sierra Leoneans from electricity supply.
"Let him rest. There is some where else he can work. We are going to ignore all negative things concerning this issue and forge ahead with what we are doing," she said.
Kabba stated that the government was strongly behind the decision which was taken by the board, adding that nothing would change that.
"It was a termination with benefits. Some percent of his benefits has been paid. There is no way we can accept someone who we have lost confidence in," she said.
She noted that once a decision has been taken against someone, he either lives or dies by it. She added "I advised him to take his leave before he was asked out."
Minister of information and communication Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo said the sacked deputy general manager and others were asked out by former President Kabbah for malpractices.
"I personally intervened in the matter so that they could be given another chance. I was surprised when I heard that he has been kicked out again," he said.
