Sierra Leone's United States based striker, Kei Kamara would miss Houston Dynamo Saturday's season final match against Chivas in the Major League Soccer (MLS) due to suspension.
The MLS handed the striker an additional game suspension last Wednesday after he was red-carded in Dynamo's 2-1 home victory over San Jose on Oct. 15.
Kamara was booked after the referee spotted him elbowing the throat of his former Earthquakes teammate, Nick Garcia as both players jockeyed for position.
He served an automatic game suspension in the Dynamo's 3-0 win over Los Angeles on Saturday. However, the league decided the foul merited the extra ban.
"The disciplinary committee reviewed the play and found that Kamara endangered the safety of his opponent by striking him with his elbow," a release from the MLS reads.
The Leone Stars skipper was also fined $500. However, the player denied malicious intent on the foul. It was Kamara's first red card in three seasons in MLS.
However, Dynamo's coach, Dominic Kinnear said he was not surprise by MLS ruling adding that "It is consistent with what they have done in the past with their punishment"
Kamara joined Houston Dynamo late July from San Jose.
