Luanda — The National Union of Plastic Artists (UNAP) met Friday in Luanda with officials of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), in order to learn about how to get their reform pension.
According to the INSS technician, Hugo Braz, the contribution rate for self-employed, in case of artists, is eight percent of the amount of income declared to the management of the social protection body.
Those who have not reached the age of 60, must make their monthly payments in order to create their own funds.
Regarding artists who perform outside the country, he explained that those can not be covered because they are registered with the "social security" of the country where they are based.
Hugo Braz said that artists must submit the documents to confirm the period in which they began their artistic career. When not possible, they are to inform the technician of the social security institution to accept the statements made by interested parties on the date it occurred, subject to verification by the competent services.
In his turn , the UNAP secretary general, Bastos Galiano, expressed satisfaction at the explanations, saying that the association is organising the papers of the artists who will soon start getting their pension.
