Luanda — Pope Benedict XVI is expected to visit Angola in March next year, to celebrate the fifth centenary of the evangelization in the country, Angop learned.
According to a source from the Vatican, the Pope made the announcement during a mass in the Basilica of Saint Peter.
Angop learned that the Pope will also visit Cameroon on the same occasion.
Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, sent to Pope Benedict XVI a message that was handed over by the ambassador to the Vatican, Armindo do Espírito Santo Vieira.
Although the content of the message was not disclosed, it is believed to be related to the strengthening of existing relations between the Republic of Angola and the Vatican.
