Luanda — The Angolan under 18 males basketball team on Saturday qualified for the world cup in this category, scheduled for 2009 in New Zealand, after beating Nigeria by 71-65, in a semi-final game of the African championship that is taking place in Egypt.
By half time, the Angolan side, coached by Carlos Diniz, were already winning by 42-18, a game in which the opponents were actually seen as favourites, since they are the title holders.
Meanwhile, Angola will dispute the final this Sunday against Egypt.
