Luanda — The provincial governors, who were sworn in on Friday in Luanda, during a ceremony presided over by the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, expressed optimism about the people's support for the efficient exercise of their new tasks.
Armando da Cruz Neto, recently sworn in as governor of the southern Benguela province, noted that there is solution for all cases", adding that "it is required population's support".
The former Angolan ambassador to Spain and also ex-chief of staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), said that the motto "is improving the citizens' living standards".
Another governor for the central Bié province, Cândida Celeste, former minister of Family and Women promotion, disclosed to have received message that she is being expected with enthusiasm in the region.
In her turn, Cândida Narciso, executive head for eastern Lunda Sul province mentioned among priorities of her mandate the fight against poverty affecting the local population, whereas the new governor of south-eastern Kuando Kubango province, Eusébio de Brito,
pledged to contribute to consolidation of peace and promotion of regional development.
The new governor of Cunene, António Didalelwa, who also corroborated with other officials pledged to implement the government programme.
