Luanda — The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) was Thursday distinguished in Lisbon, Portugal, with "Prestigious International Prize" by the jury of Real Estate Hall of Lisbon, due to the excellent work developed in this area, ANGOP has learnt.
According to the press release issued by the local government, delivered to ANGOP Friday, the award was handed over to the director of Urban Planning and Management Institute of Luanda (IPGUL), Hélder José, during a luncheon offered by the chairperson of District Chamber of Lisbon, António Costa.
On the occasion, Hélder José pledged that the Government of Luanda "is doing its best, in this crucial area, toward the improvement of the living and housing conditions of Luanda dwellers".
He also reiterated the will of the executive, led by governor Francisca do Espírito Santo, to continue participating in the Real Estate Hall of Lisbon and in other international events.
ANGOP also learnt that the Counsellor Minister of the Angolan Embassy to Lisbon, Rui Xavier will attend Friday, Angola's day, at the event.
Opened last Wednesday, the ceremony of Real Estate Hall of Lisbon was presided over by the assistant State Secretary of Public Works and of Communication of Portugal, Paulo Campos.
