Arusha — About 110 golfers are battling out for the Tanzania Amateur Golf Championship 2008 which teed off on Friday, October 24 at the Arusha Gymkhana Club golf course.
The event, sponsored by Exim Bank Tanzania Ltd, is being played under the auspices of the Tanzania Golf Union. It is a 54-hole competition running for three consecutive days --24th, 25th and 26th October.
The golfers are from clubs affiliated to the Tanzania Golf Union, namely Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club, Moshi Club, Lugalo TPDF Golf Club, TPC Moshi, Morogoro Gymkhana Club and the hosts Arusha Gymkhana Club.
Exim Bank which has a prominent presence in Arusha with two branches in the Municipality, and others elsewhere in Tanzania, has in the past sponsored other Golf events at the Arusha Gymkhana Club.
The Championship will climax on Sunday 26th October, at a colourful prize giving ceremony to be officiated by the Exim Bank Director.
