GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, weekend, promised to partner with traditional rulers to have the desired peace, progress and security in the State and charged the royal father of Uvwie kingdom to use his office to promote peace and unity in his domain.

Dr.Uduaghan gave this charge in a key note address delivered at the launching of the N750million permanent Palace building appeal Fund for the Ovie (king) at Effurun.

Represented by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Tony Nwaka, Governor Uduaghan said his administration has very high regard for traditional institutions and reminded the Uvwie monarch that peace in Uvwie is pivotal to the economy of the state even as he assured of government assistance in building a befitting palace for the Uvwie people.

Earlier in his address, HRM Emmanuel Sidesoh (JP), Abe 1 said that his ascendance to the throne was ordained by God and supported by his people and therefore urged all Uvwie natives, friends, neighbours and well wishers to generously contribute to the palace project to make the people's dream a reality.

Chairman of Palace building committee, Prof. Onoge Omafume in his address said the absence of a befitting permanent palace for Uvwie monarch was an embarrassment to the kingdom, saying that the project was long over due.
