Mbanza Kongo — The gala for the election of Miss Zaire 2009 held last Saturday Mbanza Kongo in Angolan northern Zaire province, in its ninth edition now, was won by Yara Patrícia Guida, 19, representing Nzeto district.
Yara Patrícia Guida, who replaces ex-miss Zaire and current miss Angola, Lesliana Pereira, from whom she received the crown, was elected at the contest with 14 candidates.
The miss is a 12th grade student. She is 1,68 metre tall and will be given a two-car prize.
The prize includes USD 10,000 and a mobile phone estimated at USD 500, the amount she will be earning every month during her term.
The jury presided over by Carlos Gonçalves, member of the Angolan Miss Committee, elected Bárbara Muinda, 21, second runner-up. She came from Soyo district.
