Angola: Akwá Pledges to Work As Team in Parliament

Luanda — The former captain of the Angolan senior males football squad, Fabrice Alcebiades Maieco "Akwá", who was recently sworn in as member of parliament, said last Sunday that while representing the people he will defend everyone's interest, thus, using also the condition as former soccer player to continue giving his contribute to that sector.

The former striker, now an MP for the ruling MPLA party, recognised that as former athlete there are matters to be discussed throughout the four-year legislative period, whose solutions he considers as fundamental for a major development of sports in the country.

The footballer scored Angola's goal against Rwanda (1-0) in Kigali, that qualified the country for the 2006 World Cup, held in Germany.
