Luanda — By overcoming its most direct opponent, coach of Santos FC, Mário Calado, the Portuguese manager Bernardino Pedroto at Petro de Luanda since 2007, this year confirmed being the "father of titles" of the history of the national first division soccer tournament, Girabola2008.
With this tournament won, Pedroto now has four Girabola titles. The first was in 2002 at the service of Atlético Sport Aviação (ASA), club in which he remained until 2006.
He debuted in 2001 at ASA, occupying by the second position and in the following three years (2002, 2003 and 2004) he dominated the first division, and later occupied the second and fifth places, respectively.
Still as ASA's manager, the Portuguese won four Super Cups, namely in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, confirming that he is also the coach with the most titles in the competition, which he played between the champions and the winners of the Angola Cup.
In 2007, the former player of Benfica de Lisboa (Portugal) signed a two-season contract with the team with the most titles in Girabola (14), with which he became the national champions with anticipation, after come third last year, 2006.
Born on October 19, 1953 in Portugal, António Carlos Bernardino Pedroto started loving football at the tender age of 12. He later joined the football school of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, where he trained until reaching the seniors category where he won the Superliga (now called the Liga Sagres) during the 1972/1973 season.
Before winning this current Girabola season, in 2005 the coach won the Angola Cup, whilst still managing ASA.
