Nigeria: Adamawa Varsity Recruits Teachers From India

Mubi (Adamawa) — The administrator of Adamawa State University (ADSU) Mubi, Dr Alkassum Abba, says the institution will recruit science professors from India.

Alkassum, who led a delegation from the university to India on a recruitment mission, said the university needed experienced staff in areas of computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.

"We are looking for professors who have more than 30 years experience in the academics. Those who can come and spend a minimum of five years here because we also want to develop our post graduate school," Alkassum said in Mubi.

According to him, the delegation visited eight reputable universities in India to establish academic linkages and sought admission for the university"s junior academic staff.

"As you know, we are just getting ready to recruit fresh graduate assistants and we want to send some of them for postgraduate studies in some of those Indian universities and some of the universities immediately agreed to take our staff for postgraduate studies." Alkassum added.

The Indian universities visited by the ADSU delegation included Univer-sity of Mumbai, University of Calculta, Patna University, Banaras Hindu University, among others.
