Mogadishu — At least four powerful blasts followed by bursts of automatic gunfire shook in Hargeisa' Somaliland and Bosaso, Puntland on Wednesday morning, according to the police.
The Ethiopian embassy and the voter registration locations were among several targets hit.
The blast on Ethiopian embassy was reported to have caused more deaths.
The explosion in Bosaso also was hit security forces posts.
The explosions occurred just after 9:00pm local time, shaking the windows of buildings in the centre of the city of Hargeisa and Bosaso reports says.
Plumes of smoke could be seen rising across rooftops, and the sounds of ambulances could be heard, correspondents say.
A big hole was seen around the Ethiopian embassy's floor, but no exact casualities were reported as more than 30 people were in the building as eyewitnesses said.
It is surrounded by a concrete barrier and is heavily guarded by the Somliland troops.
Eyewitnesses said an apartment building had also been hit.
Its yet unknown the groups/motives behind these consecutive explosions.
