Nigeria: Delta PDP Condemns Parallel Exco in Aniocha, Oshimili

THE leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State says the ongoing in-fighting in Aniocha South and Oshimili South Local Government Areas of the state which has resulted in the emergence of parallel executives (Exco) of the party is "unacceptable" and has declared the earlier existing leaderships in the two crisis-ridden local governments as the only valid and recognized ones.

Following alleged move by majority of the councilLors in Aniocha South to impeach the council chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Sorokwu over alleged acts of maladministration, 12 PDP elected councillors out of 14 members of the legislative arm of the council boycotted the visit of the State PDP monitoring team which visited the area recently, while a parallel PDP executive was purportedly formed by a female state legislator, from the area, who ironically is from Accord Party but has a stronghold of the council.
