Nigeria: Aliyu Blames North's Slow Development On Corrupt Leaders

Minna — Governor of Niger State, Dr Muazu Aliyu says the slow rate of development in the North is the handiwork of corrupt leaders in the region. Aliyu said in Minna at a meeting of Heads of Service of the 19 northern states that former Northern Premier, Sir Amadu Bello and his peers had built the North to an enviable position before the upheaval in the military interrupted their work.

He said the crop of leaders after the likes of Ahmadu Bello had not helped much in the area of engendering development in the region. He added that they had deliberately destroyed all the good works of the Sardauna.
