Abuja — Governors of the south eastern states of Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu and Ebonyi, yesterday, recorded a major victory in their fight to get federal attention on the environmental challenges in the states as the Federal Government promised to declare the south east an ecological disaster zone.
At the end of a meeting between the governors from the zone and the Vice President in Abuja, Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, said the ecological problems of the zone needed to be treated in the same manner the Niger Delta problem is being handled.
