Kampala — Two Niles Public Relations Agency, a labour export firm, has secured 800 jobs for Ugandans in Saudi Arabia and Syria, the managing director has said.
"We got a contract to supply a Saudi firm, Al-Bassami International Group, with 300 heavy truck and semi-trailer drivers.
"We shall also supply a Syrian firm, Asaalam International, with 500 housekeepers," Abdulrazak Hussein, said.
The two groups, he said, would leave by the end of year. He said another group of 150 would be leaving to work as shopkeepers in Dubai.
Hussein said the guards signed two-year contracts with Al-Futtain Group and would earn $420 (about 680,000) a month. He said they would also be entitled to an annual paid leave, free medical insurance and accommodation.
Two Niles has exported over 300 Ugandans to the Middle East and Sudan since it was licensed in 2005.
