Uganda: Let the Big Brother Partners Spend to Save Morris

Kampala — Morris Mugisha. Will he survive this time?

We are talking sh170m. This means Morris' life depends on winning the jackpot. Therefore, any far-reaching strategy to keep him in the Big Brother house, even if it involves spending, is viable provided it does not exceed the jackpot.

Now that Morris is up for possible eviction with Thami and Hazel, this week is tricky. A groundbreaking strategy will have to be employed. And it will take Morris' family, together with local Big Brother partners SMS Media, Multichoice and Pepsi, spending money to have someone travel to countries taking part in the show and vote from there.

For now, it is evident that we will have on our side countries like Zambia, Nigeria, and of course Uganda. Kenya and Tanzania might vote out our boy. In order for Morris to stay on the show, we will need to have seven countries voting out Thami, since it is likely that no country will vote out Hazel.

With three countries already on our side, we shall need four more. How do we get them? Let the partners put together some loyal foot soldiers who will not misappropriate the money meant for airtime, send them to nearby countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Namibia.

There, they will connect to local telecommunication networks, load air time and start voting out Thami. Since one number can vote as many times as possible, about sh500,000 worth of airtime per country would suffice. And before we know, Morris would stay on the show and come back home sh170m richer.

It doesn't matter if about sh40m is spent on getting sh170m, does it? And I am looking at sh40m as the possible expenditure in a situation where we have to keep applying the same strategy dsuring the remaining four times we have to save Morris, which is unlikely.

If Morris survives this time, he will become one of the strongest contenders of the jackpot that at some point, we will not have to employ radical means of saving him. He will be the next best thing, so Africa will definitely vote to make him winner after Ricco's popularity went down the straws on Monday.

To Morris' family and Big Brother partners, how far can you go? This is a guaranteed deal to make yet another millionaire, so shall we? Other companies like MTN, utl, Zain and Warid can join the fight by giving cash for transportation of the foot soldiers, or airtime to select customers to vote out Thami and send supporting messages on the TV screen to influence the rest of Africa to keep Morris. It is called patriotism and we sure have loads of it.

One would say the cost of transporting the foot soldiers is high. But hey, what is partnering for? In a partnership, it can be achieved at a minimal coast. For beginners, Morris modeled for an air Uganda advertisement. With good convincing, air Uganda can give the said partners a good deal on flying the foot soldiers to the different destinations.

And on the routes air Uganda doesn't ply, their friendly airlines can give them a deal. So shall we, folks? Vote out Thami. Type 'Vote Thami' and send your SMS to 6626 across all networks.
