Also the fifth phase will bring together schools from Grand Cape Mount, Gbarpolu and Bomi Counties, while the sixth phase will be the grand regional final among winners of each phase.
The release said the nationwide event will be aired on radio and shown on television stations in the country, and will help bring the game to the people and to encourage a broad-based participation and awareness of the game as was done in the past.
The media committee in the release noted that honors and awards will be given to winners and each regional competition and to students who will exhibit exceptional performance.
However, all participating schools will receive recognition as participants. The program will last for eight months starting from October 29, 2008 to May 29, 2009, and it is expected that before this period elapses, all the games in the fifteen counties among selected schools will be exhausted and the program will come to a successful end.
The project is expected to directly benefit over 50,000 high school students and over 60,000 indirect beneficiaries in elementary and junior high schools across the country and out-of-school youth who might have the opportunity to witness the event as it unfolds.
