Luanda — At least 22 people were rescued from drowning over the last 24 hours by firemen near Luanda, when the boat they were travelling in let water in.
The information was released by the fire services spokesperson, Faustino Sebastião, who told Angop the 22 were saved thanks to the rapid intervention of a Rescue Unit team patrolling the area between the district of Samba and Mussulo Island.
Of those rescued, according to the source, only six were wearing life-vests.
On the other hand, the fire services over the last 24 hours recorded four houses and one vehicle fires in the Luanda's high density districts of Sambizanga, Maianga, Cacuaco and Kilamba Kiaxi.
