Luanda — The Angolan minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva on Thursday in Luanda called on Angolans to give their contribution to the tasks of preserving the country's cultural and historical heritage.
Speaking to ANGOP, in the sidelines of the ceremony that served to present the two recently appointed deputy ministers of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva revealed that major attention will be given to buildings, having into account the number of new constructions countrywide.
"Angolan cities are now going through a movement of reclassification and modernisation, so this has to be done within appropriate parameters" she explained.
According to the minister, it is the duty of the Culture Ministry to preserve the country's cultural heritage, therefore it must speed up the work of providing effective protection to the already identified patrimony.
"There are historic places that are losing its characteristics and whose (degrading) situation has to change immediately" said the minister, adding that major attention must be paid to the historic sites.
On the other hand, Rosa Cruz e Silva reiterated the commitment of her department, in the next four years, to professional training, having into account the need for specialised cadres.
