Angola: Angop Portal Important in Promotion of Country's Image

Caxito — The online service of Angola Press Agency (Angop), through its portal, is important in the promotion of the country's image.

This was said Wednesday, by Angop director general assistant, Luisa Damião, during a talk on "The role and importance of Angop within the national and international context," held in Caxito, northern Bengo province, designed to hail the 33rd anniversary of the agency, on October 30.

During the talk, attended by several officials of the local government, Luisa Damião said one of the main characteristics of Angop is gathering, processing and distribution of news in due time throughout the whole national territory and abroad.

She said on the occasion that the agency has a permanent news service that includes 31 channels, 17 of which of news, 10 of general information and four of service in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

The official also expressed Angop professionals' commitment to a responsible, plural, objective and impartial reporting, with a view to a communication turned to citizenship.

The event was attended as well by journalists, religious authorities and other people.
