Luanda — At least 35 specialists from the Interior Ministry and provincial commands of Angola's National Police, completed Thursday in Luanda the second course of information and analysis, designed to improve their skill in handling crime data.
The 30-day course was run by specialists from Cuba, under a programme of cooperation between the polices from both countries.
The course tackled such topics as information analysis, processing of statistics, operative analysis of crime, cycle of information and others.
Closing the event, the national director of the Ministry's Department of Information and Analysis, Carlos Alberto Burity da Silva, said that the course is part of the sector's strategy towards permanent technical, scientific and specialised training, intended to equip the staff with the skill to face the challenges.
According to the officer, who was speaking on behalf of the Interior minister, Roberto Leal Monteiro "Ngongo", the course constitutes a relevant instrument in any sector of the social life.
To him, data processing and analysis, ahead of decision making must comply with scientific methodological criteria, contrary to common sense based on daily experience.
