John Mensah has moved to calm Lyon fears that he is looking for a quick move to the English Premiership after his early difficulties at Olympique Lyon.
The Black Stars defender had been courted by Portsmouth in the summer but preferred to stay in France with Lyon.
I am thinking how to get over all the injuries and help Lyon play good football
And despite reports that he still has an eye on the English League, Mensah insist what he really wants is to get fit and do well with Lyon.
"It's not true I will move to England anytime soon," he said.
"I have a contract with Lyon and I want to respect that. Yes I came close to a move there but that is over and I want to move on."
Mensah's time at Lyon has been disrupted by frequent injuries and the defender is currently out for at least another two weeks with a groin muscle tear.
He says getting fit again is his biggest priority.
"I am thinking how to get over all the injuries and help Lyon play good football. It is quiet difficult for us and that is my priority."
